Dr. Pitkanen received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Exercise Science from Furman University. He went on to attend the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine where he received two scholarships and was awarded the prestigious distinction of membership to Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He then completed four years of residency in Anesthesiology acting as the Chief Resident his final year. In 2015, Dr. Pitkanen completed a specialty Fellowship year in Pain medicine from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He enjoys cheering on the Tennessee Vols (don’t hold that against him) and being with his wife and four kids.

LaDonna received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama and Masters in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. LaDonna and Dr. Pitkanen have worked together for over eight years. She has enjoyed Alabama’s dominance over the Tennessee Vols for the last decade. She and her husband Zach stay busy outside of work with their five children.

  Caitlin received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Troy University where she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society. She recieved her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and specialized in the Adult-Geriatric population. She is certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Pracitioner. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling to new places, going to coffee shops and spending time with her husband and two kids.
